The Transverse Lobe Piercing
As piercings in the ear continue in popularity, another new piercing which we are hearing more about is the transverse lobe piercing.
This is basically a piercing horizontally through the ear lobe using a barbell. The angle of lobe piercings depend on the size and shape of the ear lobe.
Generally, a lobe piercing heals quickly but a transverse lobe piercing takes longer to heal because a larger portion of the barbell is inside the ear.
Flexible PTFE or Flexiplast barbells are a good option for this type of piercing as well as straight or curved barbells. A BCR or horseshoe of the correct diameter may also be worn.
Different types of components can be worn with the barbell such as spikes or glitter, disco balls to create a different look.
This type of piercing can also be done even with a regular lobe piercing. Stretched lobes work well too with tunnels and a barbell.
